FotoWeb is the natural choice when a large image archive is to be distributed to many users; fast effective and with low costs. All installation and maintenance is completed on the central server. All the user needs is a standard browser.
FotoWeb makes use of standard internet technology. It is built on Windows server with accompanying Microsoft Information Services (IIS). Combined with Index Manager large archives can be presented on internal networks, or used in relation with presentation and eventual sales of images and services on the internet.
Flexible solution: FotoWeb easily allows you to define how many images the user will see on the screen at one time, how large the thumbnail- and preview images should be and which actions the different users are allowed to do in relation to the high resolution originals. Supports a range of file formats: FotoWeb supports the same file formats as Index Manager. This means that you can publish not only images, but also text, pdf, sound and video.
Simple administration of users: FotoWeb has a simple and clear administration of user access to the images published. The users are individually given access to folders, changing text and downloading original files. There are also tools for handling larger amounts of users. The users can be given access not only to images on the actual FotoWeb server, but also to images located elsewhere in the network. These images can be published via FotoWeb without giving the users access to the storage units where the files are located. In this way you can distribute images without compromising security.

FotoWeb Desktop is a plugin installed on workstations which gives the users fast and easy ways to access the FotoWeb directly from their workstation without using a browser. FotoWeb Desktop can be used both for uploading files and for using files from the archives in documents.
Integration with MS Office: When working on a document in Word or PowerPoint much time is often spent going to the archives to find images or files needed. What if you could search in the FotoWeb archive directly from the program interface you are working in? This is now possible! FotoWeb Desktop provides a plugin which makes it fast and easy to make use of images and other resources (for examples videos for PowerPoint presentations) stored in your FotoWeb archives. Search field and search hits are displayed directly in the Word / PowerPoint interfaces under the ‘insert’ tab, and the files can be added by drag and drop. Images can be added in 3 predefined sizes, but you may also adjust the size in detail before adding the image to your document. The plugin also contains functionality for cropping and rotating the images. Images, logos, illustrations or other files which are used often may be added to a list of favourites, so that they are quickly accessible. If you have access to multiple FotoWeb archives you can choose which archives to view and search, or you may search across all of them.
Integration with Adobe products: FotoWeb Desktop also provides a handy tool for users of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. The extension for Adobe CS5 allows you to search FotoWeb archives and make use of your digital assets similar to the integration with MS Office. Search field and search hits are displayed within the interface of the applications, which makes it fast and easy to insert images in InDesign documents, find images for editing in Photoshop and edit archived illustrations in Illustrator. IPhone App: The IPhone app for FotoWeb allows users to search for files, browse archives, add metadata to files and upload new files to the server. It is also possible to set up alerts to be notified when new files are uploaded to the server. The product is available for IPhone and IPad, and will later be available for Android.
